The update to the top 100 decathlon and heptathlon world rankings on 10 October 2023 took into account the expiry of scores from Copa Brasil competition in April 2022. There were no changes to the top 100 heptathlon rankings.
Scores can only be included for rankings purposes if they occur within the previous 18-month period (other than certain circumstances for area championships).
You can find an explanation of the rankings system here.

DECATHLON
As the 18-month eligibility period for decathlon and heptathlon rankings moves through 2022, the results from the Copa Brasil meet on 10 April 2022 expired.
That impacted upon the ranking score of Felipe Dos Santos, whose score dropped by one point from 1148 to 1147. His overall ranking position remained the same, in 69th place.
Dos Santos’ score of 8004 to win at the Copa Brasil was replaced by his 7736 from Arona in 2022, where he finished fourth.
However, although his Arona decathlon score is over 250 points lower than his Copa score, Felipe only lost one point overall in his ranking score. That is because Arona has much better placing points.
First place at the Brazilian meet (Category F) only provided 10 placing points, whereas fourth in Arona (in 2022, when it was a Category A meet) provided 50 placing points.
HEPTATHLON
